Contact support

Email hello@openmail.email for account, mailbox, sending, contacts, privacy, security, legal, or general product support. OpenMail is a developing service, so response times are targets rather than guarantees.

Before contacting us

  • Refresh the page, then log out and back in.
  • Check your internet connection and original mailbox provider.
  • Confirm the saved IMAP and SMTP settings and whether your mailbox password changed.
  • Try a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari browser.
  • Temporarily disable extensions or try a private browsing window.

What to include

Include your OpenMail account email, affected feature, expected and actual behaviour, date and time, folder, browser and device, safe screenshots, any displayed error, and what you already tried. For sending issues, a recipient domain and approximate send time are often enough.

Never send support

Do not send passwords, mailbox secrets, private keys, recovery codes, API keys, SSH keys, full card details, bank details, or unnecessary private email content. If you accidentally disclose a secret, tell us and rotate it immediately.

Login and mailbox connection

Check the login address, account email, password, Caps Lock, browser cache, and current browser. For mailbox connection failures, verify the full mailbox address, password, IMAP/SMTP hosts, ports, encryption, and provider availability. Support cannot recover mailbox passwords.

Email viewing and safe previews

If mail is missing, refresh the selected folder, check Spam, Trash, and original webmail, and ask whether the sender received a bounce. Safe previews may simplify layouts and block remote images, scripts, trackers, forms, or unsafe HTML.

Sending and Sent copies

Current sending is limited to your own mailbox and saved contacts, one recipient, plain text, no CC/BCC, and no attachments. If sending is blocked, verify that the contact is saved, the body is not empty, the subject is within limits, credentials are current, and rate limits have not been reached.

If sending succeeds but no copy appears in Sent, refresh after a few seconds and check the original webmail. SMTP sending can succeed even when saving the Sent copy fails.

Drafts and contacts

A draft notification may be local or app-side only. Keep important text elsewhere. If a contact is missing, check both Saved and Unsaved tabs, refresh mailbox headers, verify spelling, and save the contact before trying controlled sending.

Calendar, files, profile, and appearance

Calendar and Files may remain placeholder surfaces until sync or storage is clearly enabled. Keep independent records and backups. Profile images should be JPG, PNG, or WebP within the displayed size limit. For appearance issues, refresh, switch theme or font, reset preferences, check browser zoom, and test another browser.

Security and abuse reports

Use the subject “Security report - OpenMail” or “Abuse report - OpenMail”. Explain the affected feature, steps, impact, time, and safe evidence. Do not access data that is not yours, disrupt services, exfiltrate data, run destructive tests, attack mail infrastructure, or publish before reasonable investigation time.

Privacy requests and complaints

Email hello@openmail.email for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, consent withdrawal, privacy complaints, account closure, or data deletion. Identity verification may be required.

Emergency warning

OpenMail is not an emergency service. Do not rely on it as your only method for emergency services, urgent medical information, court or legal deadlines, safeguarding alerts, financial trading, or critical operations.
