1. General notice
OpenMail aims to provide its email and productivity service with reasonable care and skill. It does not guarantee uninterrupted access, perfect operation, compatibility with every mailbox, accurate previews, successful delivery, inbox placement, or permanent availability of beta and placeholder features.
Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, mandatory statutory rights, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Beta and feature limitations
Features may be experimental, incomplete, disabled, changed, or removed. Calendar, files, drafts, storage, advertising, paid plans, sync, and other surfaces may be placeholders unless the app clearly confirms otherwise. Do not rely on beta features as the only copy of important information.
3. Email viewing, sender identity, links, and attachments
Safe previews may remove formatting, remote images, trackers, scripts, forms, or unsafe HTML. Sender names and addresses can be spoofed. Links may be misleading or malicious, and attachments may contain malware or confidential information.
Verify senders, destinations, and files before clicking, opening, paying, sharing information, or entering credentials. OpenMail cannot guarantee that every unsafe message, link, or attachment will be detected.
4. Sending, delivery, and Sent copies
Sending may be restricted to your own mailbox and saved contacts, one recipient, and plain text. Messages may be delayed, rejected, filtered, quarantined, or marked as spam by systems outside OpenMail's control.
SMTP delivery and saving a Sent copy are separate steps. A sent message may not appear in Sent if controlled IMAP APPEND fails. OpenMail does not guarantee delivery, spam-filter outcomes, Sent-copy saving, or recipient action.
5. Contacts and drafts
Contacts derived from headers may be incorrect, outdated, spoofed, or duplicated. Saving a contact does not prove that it is safe or controlled by the intended person. Check addresses before sending sensitive information.
A “Saved to Drafts” notice may describe local or interface-only behaviour and may not mean the draft was saved to your mailbox server. Keep separate copies of important drafts.
6. Mailbox providers and infrastructure
OpenMail does not control mailbox providers, IMAP or SMTP servers, DNS, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, hosting, filtering, storage, payment, or other third-party services. Those systems may change settings, reject connections, delay mail, impose limits, or become unavailable.
7. Security, credentials, and backups
No online service is completely secure. Protect your passwords, mailbox credentials, recovery methods, devices, and browser sessions. Change credentials and contact support if compromise is suspected.
You are responsible for independent backups of important emails, contacts, settings, files, calendar entries, drafts, and other data. Operational backups may not be available for individual restore requests.
8. Availability, performance, and compatibility
Availability and speed may be affected by maintenance, updates, bugs, load, browser or device limitations, internet conditions, mailbox size, server speed, extensions, privacy tools, firewalls, VPNs, or incidents outside reasonable control.
9. Advertising, support, and external services
Placeholder adverts are not necessarily real advertisements. Sponsorship does not automatically mean endorsement. External products, claims, websites, pricing, privacy, and security remain the responsibility of their providers.
Support is general service help, not legal, financial, medical, tax, cybersecurity certification, or other professional advice. Response times and resolution are not guaranteed.
10. High-risk use and liability
OpenMail is not designed for emergency, medical, legal-deadline, safeguarding, financial-trading, regulated, safety-critical, or mission-critical use. Maintain alternative communication and record systems.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenMail is not liable for delivery failures, filtering, lost drafts or Sent copies, wrong recipients, contact errors, phishing, malware, third-party failures, data loss, business interruption, lost profit, or reliance on beta features.
11. Contact and updates
This Disclaimer may change as products, risks, laws, and operations change. Questions can be sent to hello@openmail.email.
